Life Skills Group (LSG) caters for childhood to adolescents from the developmental ages 8-16.
The group session focuses on everyday skills for Students: personal/social skills, hygiene, independent life skills such as cooking and clothing care, work competencies, and functional academics.
LSG develop a core set of skills that are at the heart of skill-based initiatives for the promotion of well – being of children and adolescents such as decision making, problem solving, creative thinking, critical thinking, effective communication, interpersonal relationship, self-awareness, empathy, coping emotions and coping with stress.
Effective use of the life skills developed through this program will lead to a lifelong sense of self-worth, greater personal and interpersonal understanding, and constructive relationships with others at home, at work, and in the community.
These skills are essential for the individual to learn as they provide the basis for and facilitate transition from school to life in the “real world”.
The LSG program is based on the belief that individuals who have developed solid life skills and know how to apply them will make choices that will affect their own lives and their communities in positive ways.
Learning life skills are best done “by doing”. “We learn by doing…..”
