Assessment

The Physiotherapist will observe the child’s movement, posture, strength and tone of the upper and lower limbs, as well as movement in the joints. From the assessment, a specific treatment programme will then be tailored to the child’s individual needs and goals. It is essential that treatment is age-appropriate and fun to ensure good compliance and to enable integration into the child’s daily routine.

Below is a list of assessment procedures that the Physiotherapist conducts in the clinic:

  • Ocular inspection
  • Palpation
  • Range of motion
  • The integrity of muscle and joints
  • Balance and tolerance
  • Postural Control
  • Anthropometric Measurements
  • Testing of reflexes
